The Byrd Theatre, Carytown - 2nd Edition
Second edition giclee print of the Byrd Theatre in Richmond, Virginia.
The Byrd Theatre in Richmond, Virginia's premier shopping district, Carytown. The Byrd Theatre is not just an RVA landmark but also recognized nationally as one of a few ornate theater palaces that has withstood the test of time. It is a favorite spot of mine to catch a movie and listen to the Mighty Wurlitzer on a Saturday night. The theater was designed in 1928 by local architect Fred Bishop in a renaissance revival style. The palace itself is a work of art and the fact that it largely remains unchanged since its original opening is truly amazing.
